Gregory J. Cava is an attorney in private practice in Roxbury, Connecticut. His state-wide practice is focused on land development law with special emphasis on zoning and land use applications and appeals, commercial real estate and secured lending transactions, commercial leasing, ad valorem municipal tax appeals, and condominium and community association law including the formation and creation of condominiums and common interest communities, and the representation of condominium and community associations. Prior to establishing his boutique practice in Roxbury, Mr. Cava was a principal and shareholder in Zeldes Needle & Cooper in Bridgeport where he practiced from 1983 through 2007.

(2005-09). First elected in 2009, he is currently serving his third four-year term on the Shepaug Valley Region 12 Board of Education which operates the regional pre-K to 12 public school system in the Towns of Bridgewater, Roxbury, and Washington, Connecticut. He is the Chairman of its Lease, Facilities, and Labor Negotiations Committees as well as the Chairman of the Shepaug AgriSTEM and Science Laboratory Building Committee. A native of Colorado and a jazz pianist, Mr. Cava is also the Organist and Choir Director at Christ Church (Episcopal) in Roxbury, Connecticut and a composer of instrumental, choral, and sacred music.

Mr. Cava has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Connecticut Attorneys Title Insurance Company (1989-2011) and the Chairman of its Investment and Long Range Planning Committees, and Vested Technologies, Inc., a company providing technological solutions to the legal profession (2002-05).  He formerly served as an elected member of the Planning & Zoning Commission (1989-1993) and the Environmental Protection Commission (1989-1991) of the Town of Darien, Connecticut as well as an appointed member of the Roxbury Inland Wetland Commission (2000-2009), and a Justice of the Peace in Roxbury, Connecticut 

He attended the Boston University School of Law where he received his J.D. degree in 1983. He received his undergraduate degree from Boston University, a B.A. summa cum laude with Distinction in Philosophy, where he was Phi Beta Kappa and the publisher of the Boston University Review. He is a fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL), a Fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys (ACMA), holds an AV Preeminent peer-rating from Martindale Hubbell and is listed in its Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, listings in the commercial publications Best Lawyers in America (2005-2019) for Real Estate Law [for information on the methodology for selection click on http://www.bestlawyers.com/about/CT_Methodology.aspx], and Connecticut Super Lawyers 2007-2019 for Real Estate Law [for information on the methodology for selection click on http://superlawyers.com/connecticut/selection_details.html]. He is a past Chairman of the Real Property Section of the Connecticut Bar Association (2003-2005) as well as a current member of its Executive Committee and its CIOA Manual Drafting Committee. Mr. Cava is also a member of the Litchfield County Bar Association, and a former member of the Greater Bridgeport Bar Association and four times the Chairman or Co-chairman of its Real Estate Committee (2003-04, 2002-03, 1997-98, and 1998-97).
